RIO FERDINAND PRAISES UNITED UNDER MOURINHO

Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.

The former Manchester United defender has commended the effort of the Portuguese tactician, who succeeded Louis van Gaal in May.

He congratulated Mourinho on his Facebook page stating that the Portuguese man is warmly welcome to the “biggest club in the world” and assured that his arrival at Old Trafford will be the most exciting job of his managerial career.

The Englishman reckons Mourinho has helped bring confidence back into the club due to how courageous the players perform on the pitch since he took over. “The biggest positive change for the Red Devils apart from the players they have bought, is the mentality shift,” Ferdinand told talkSPORT.

Ferdinand also insists Mourinho is able, willing and ready to turn fifth-placed Manchester United into a team capable of winning titles once again, despite being sacked by Chelsea on December 17 after a disappointing start to the campaign.

An iconic figure of Manchester United wanted to join Arsenal

Rio Ferdinand is one of the most iconic players of Manchester United of the past decade as he spent 12 years performing with the Premier League where the Englishman managed to win the UEFA Champions League back in May of 2008 and the Premier League title on 6 different occasions.

Manchester United and Arsenal have one of the biggest and well-known rivalries in the Premier League. It comes as a huge surprise to find out that an iconic Manchester United player such as: Rio Ferdinand was actually interested in joining their rival team but it was indeed confirmed by the Englishman himself as Ferdinand stated that he actually reached out to Arsene Wenger with hopes of joining Arsenal but a transfer was never completed.

After having spent around 12 years with Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand left the English club on May of 2014 and the English defender said: ‘’I am feeling fit and healthy, ready for a new challenge and looking forward to whatever the future holds for me’’

Despite leaving Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand still had desire to continue performing but it wasn’t going to happen at Old Trafford as the player was reaching an elevated age that was starting to become an obstacle when performing in such a high pressure and fast pace environment such as the Premier League.

Manchester United should appoint Jose Mourinho according to Rio Ferdinand

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has stated that Manchester United should consider replacing Louis van Gaal during the summer.

The best choice will be to go for Jose Mourinho according to Ferdinand. He said that the Portuguese manager has the know-how and the experience needed to manage a team of this stature.

Rio Ferdinand believes that if the club wants to replace Louis van Gaal in the summer, they should make the move now especially with Jose Mourinho free. He added that a manager of this quality will not remain without a job for a long time, and they should make the move now.

Louis van Gaal has stated that he will still be the manager of Manchester United next season, but Rio Ferdinand does not seem to agree. For him, Mourinho will definitely be an upgrade over Louis van Gaal, and he wants to see the board sign the Portuguese manager. REAL MADRID DEFENDER LABELED “AN ACTOR”

Spanish giants, Real Madrid suffered a very surprising defeat to Wolfsburg on Wednesday in the quarter finals of the UEFA League. The game ended 2-0 in favor of the hosts. Two goals in the first half separated both sides.

During the second half of the hard-fought encounter, Real Madrid Defender, Marcelo had a moment with Wolfsburg midfielder Max Arnold. It appeared he thrust his head towards Max before going to the ground clutching his face. Max claimed no wrong and walked up to the Brazilian player still on the ground, trying to get him to quit the ‘acting.’

Max Arnold received a booking for this but after the game Head Coach of Wolfsburg, Dieter Hecking called Marcelo an actor.

“Marcelo is an actor, that annoyed me, because he has no need,” Hecking told the German media.

The Coach went on to request the decision be rescinded but UEFA would only do that retrospectively if the match officials missed it.

During the match, Defender Ricardo Rodriguez opened the score-line with a goal from the spot, after a Wolfsburg player was fouled. Max Arnold scored the second goal before the break. Continue reading REAL MADRID DEFENDER LABELED “AN ACTOR”

West Ham have lost their interest for Tom Huddlestone

Hull City’s Tom Huddlestone was a summer target of the Premier League outfit West Ham United but this interest is fading away as Slaven Billic is starting to search in the transfer market for other possible signings that could be done before the summer transfer window reaches its end on September 1rst.

Steve Bruce is the manager of Hull City and the English coach stated that there is nothing he could do in order to prevent Tom Huddlestone from leaving the team.

Hull City’s Bruce told reporters: ‘’I am sure West Ham, like anybody, knows he has a buyout in his contract and if they get to that figure I am powerless. The agents will be touting him around everywhere, which I know they are. But there’s nothing I can do’’

The 54 year old manager was a bit worried about the fact that he was powerless and could do nothing about the potential departure of Tom Huddlestone but Steve Bruce can now relax as West Ham United wants to make a quick signing before the summer transfer window and this is why they have started to look for other midfielders.

Tom Huddlestone has a close relationship with his fans as well as with the supporters of Hull City and the recent defeat that his club sustained after facing off with Charlton Athletic on August 22 was a huge blow Hull City as they had the upper hand in possession as the team of Steve Bruce had 53% of possession and launched more shots on target than their opposition but still lost 1-2.
